M4M (Music for Museums) #2
LAURENT BAUDOUX aka LAWRENCE LEDOUX
An art-school teacher by day and a true legend of the Brussels underground the rest of the time, Laurent Baudoux has, throughout his life, passionately explored a very wide spectrum of electronica – from noisy and rather aggressive industrial music to the more ambient soundtrack of documentaries, both real and fictional.
It is this more contemplative and experimental genre that he will present tonight during a performance centred on a (falsely) simple question: what is the place of sound in a place like KANAL-Centre Pompidou? In his attempt to answer this question, Baudoux will develop four sound pieces over four hours, embedded in a special device centred on the themes of Narration, Wandering, Housing on Mars, and Architecture. For the occasion, he will be accompanied by Ann Appermans on guitar and bass.
